THE CLOSED WORKING CHAMBERS TECHNOLOGY

EmCell Closed Working Chambers imported from Australia, are microscopic work stations that provide long term stable environment (controlled CO2, Temperature, Humidity and VOC free atmosphere) for handling gametes, oocytes, embryos and other tissues dependent on a controlled environment. During an IVF process the woman’s egg is taken outside for fertilization & due to the temperature variation the egg may receive a temperature shock which might affect the egg quality subsequently affecting embryo quality too. The use of EmCell Chambers ensures that the ideal temperature and CO2 level can be consistently maintained thus ensuring a better tendency to form good quality embryos which result in improved pregnancy results.

WORLD CLASS LABORATORIES

Our state-of-the-art hi-tech Embryology lab has been designed as per international standards. The IVF lab allows our patients to receive the highest level of fertility care together with reproductive technology (ART). All of our ART treatments and testing are performed in-house ensuring tighter control and top notch security for the best chance at successful treatment.

Dr. Iram’s Ivf uses the most advanced incubators available which are used to store embryos as they are developed in the laboratory. Our incubators are smaller in size than traditional models which allow for a rapid restoration of ‘womb-like’ temperatures and humidity. This helps maintain the most optimal condition for embryo development and leads to significantly higher IVF success rates.

A TRUE IVF ADVANTAGE

Dr. Iram’s Ivf uses the most advanced incubators available which are used to store embryos as they are developed in the laboratory. Traditionally, the size of incubators was that of a Washing Machine. But the main problem was that you can store embryos at a particular time. Once you have stored them you cannot test or store another embryo, else the tightly controlled environment would be lost.

However, due to the advancement in our technology and various innovations in the medical field, we are now equipped with incubators which are smaller than the earlier version and extremely efficient.

ELECTRONIC WITNESSING SYSTEM

Electronic Witnessing System is a modern day application in IVF practice. It uses radio frequency identification (RFID) tags for tracking and recording patient’s information and the samples during the complete IVF process.

Each patient is monitored at every step of the process and it also records information regarding the progress in IVF cycle. It doesn’t allow laboratory staff to work with two samples at the same time on the same workstation.

Electronic Witnessing System provides a unique ID to each embryologist and patient. It offers automated cross checking, prevents human errors and provides a safe and secure environment during the complete IVF process.

LABCARE ALARM SYSTEM

Dr. Iram’s Ivf uses Internet of Things (IoT) technique in their embryology labs pan India. With the help of IoT, sophisticated sensors and chips are embedded in equipments which monitor and record the valuable data and also transmit in real time. IoT systems are based on web, application or cloud and also represent data graphically for real time monitoring.

With this IoT technology, IVF clinics can understand better how their system and equipment’s are working. Dr. Iram’s Ivf was the first player to install lab care quality control systems in India by installing the Labcare system in its Udaipur centre. And as of today, many centres of Dr. Iram’s Ivf are equipped with the advanced Labcare alarm system.

MICROFLUIDIC SPERM SORTER TECHNIQUE

Microfluidic Sperm Sorter technique is a boon to the couples facing difficulty in achieving parenthood due to male factor infertility. It is a game changing revolutionary technology where highly motile and structurally normal spermatozoa with good DNA integrity are separated from semen so that they can be used to fertilize oocytes.

This technique is based on a principle called ‘Microfluidics’. It is observed that physiologically and genetically perfect sperms exhibit a high grade of forward motility. In this technique, an embryologist takes advantage of this property of sperms. In a simplified way, the sperms are made to race in a narrow stream of fluid. The heathiest sperms win this race and get collected in a specific chamber. Those sperms are separated and used to fertilize ovum by ICSI process.

This technique is extremely helpful in the cases where the male partner has deficient amount of structurally normal sperms (teratozoospermia) or where sperms show a higher DNA fragmentation index (DFI). Patients in whom good quality embryos were not formed or IVF failed in previous cycle despite of a normal semen analysis report, may also opt for this technique.

The main advantage of this technique is its ability to yield morphologically normal sperms with intact DNA devoid of dead sperms or any debris that can be used in an IVF cycle. Research has proven that use of Microfluidics Sperm Sorter technique leads to higher fertilization rate, formation of better embryos as well as increase in pregnancy rates after ICSI procedure.

NON- INVASIVE PREIMPLANTATION GENETIC TESTING (NIPGT-A)

The Non-invasive Preimplantation genetic testing, also called niPGT is an upcoming, innovative and promising technology that does not require a fetal biopsy and facilitates access to the control of chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo during IVF cycle.

In the early days of PGT-A, the challenge of science was to be able to control the genetic makeup of embryos without having to biopsy their cells. In recent years, research in this area has intensified and several genetics laboratories have already developed platforms for the analysis of chromosomal abnormalities at the blastocyst stage from alternative sources of their cellular DNA. This is a genetic analysis carried out on the free DNA contained in the culture material where the embryos develop as part of in vitro fertilization.

It will help in improving the IVF outcomes in patients with advanced age, recurrent miscarriages, recurrent IVF failures and patients with genetic disorders. Hence, this technique should definitely be offered to these categories of patients in order to improvise their success rate.

This procedure is expected to become a reality in the near future. It is an exciting prospect, since it would not require a fetal biopsy and would facilitate proper control over the chromosomal abnormalities in the embryo during IVF cycle. If so, the niPGT would be non-invasive, precise and inexpensive.

This technique will definitely be advantageous for those couples with advanced age because it has been observed that as many as 50 percent of grade 1 embryos might not be genetically normal, so when we select them according to their ploidy status, we can improve the IVF outcome and can give them a healthy pregnancy. Also, the patient will be able to go for a single embryo transfer without compromising the success and hence we can reduce the burden of multiple pregnancies and the complications associated with it.
